How’s this for news to kick off the week? For our work on behalf of the Minnesota Fire Service Foundation and the Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial, we’ve been named a finalist for a PR News 2013 Platinum PR Award in the pro bono category. We’re honored that this important project continues to receive national-level recognition.
The campaign raised funds and public awareness throughout the state for the Foundation’s efforts to build a new memorial to fallen firefighters on the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol in 2012. Bellmont Partners launched its media relations and marketing campaign to build upon the Fire Service Foundation’s initial efforts and develop a community outreach framework, to help identify and reach fallen firefighters’ family members with an appeal for participation in the project.
“We are extremely proud to have been a part of such an emotionally powerful campaign that touched so many Minnesota firefighters and their families,” said Brian Bellmont, president of Bellmont Partners Public Relations. “To be recognized for our work is an honor we will share with the 790 Minnesota fire departments whose dedication and desire to serve made our campaign a success.”
The awards program, which honors top PR initiatives in more than 40 categories, recognizes corporations, agencies and nonprofits—both large and small—that took chances, made tremendous strides in their communications efforts and understand the power of public relations. Winners will be announced at a luncheon on October 15, 2013, at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.
“I cannot understate how much Bellmont Partners’ efforts meant to our campaign for the memorial,” said Minnesota Fire Service Foundation President George Esbensen. “Their involvement was the tipping point for our success, and we could never have accomplished what we did without their help.”
