We’re excited to announce that we have received an honorable mention from PR Daily’s 2013 Nonprofit PR Awards for our successful campaign with the Minnesota Fire Service Foundation. It’s an honor to be recognized in the inaugural edition of this awards program.
In October 2011, we launched a pro bono community relations campaign to help the foundation establish a new memorial for the 207 Minnesota firefighters who have died in the line of duty. We helped drive awareness and funding for the project and developed a community outreach framework to identify and reach fallen firefighters’ families with an appeal for participation. The foundation surpassed its fundraising goal, and in September 2012 thousands gathered at a dedication ceremony for the new memorial at the State Capitol.
This September, thousands of family members and officials will gather once again to honor the Minnesota firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. A ceremony at the new memorial will be held Sept. 29, and dozens of people will be recognized, including newly discovered line-of-duty deaths and families the foundation was able to track down since the 2012 dedication.
This project holds a special place in our hearts. As our work with the foundation nears the two-year mark, the entire Bellmont Partners team is thrilled to see the campaign receive national recognition from PR Daily.
