It’s not every day you get to see a 132-year-old mansion transformed from start to finish.

When the Bellmont Partners team first walked into the 2013 ASID MN Showcase Home this March, there was still plenty of work to be done. In the span of two months, the 9,000-square-foot historic Cathedral Hill mansion was renovated from top to bottom, revealing 22 unique spaces open for three weeks of public tours and special events.

Soon to become the Saint Paul Bed & Breakfast, this year’s ASID MN Showcase Home, located at 325 Dayton Ave. in St. Paul, was transformed by 39 certified American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), in partnership with Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, contractors, corporate sponsors and countless artisans and craftspeople. The upper portion of the mansion will become home to Andy and Whitney Blessing, along with their three children, Gwyneth (5), Weston (2) and Freya (5 months).

The Blessing family, as well as the home itself, had some great stories to tell. The Star Tribune covered both the design aspects of the home, and shared the Blessing’s hopes for the space. Fox News also stopped by to check out the various spaces in the home.

Tours of the Showcase Home will run through Sunday, June 9, after which the family will move in, and begin the process of opening the Saint Paul Bed & Breakfast.
