Last night was the Minnesota public relations community’s big annual event: the Minnesota PRSA Classics Awards. We were thrilled when we found out in February that we were nominated in three categories for four projects (yes, we had two projects competing against each other in one category). We went into the evening happy to be counted among the who’s who in the PR industry – that would have been recognition enough for us at our first showing at the Classics.
Then, we won our first category, Media Kits, for the time-capsule-themed press kit for the 2013 Uptown Art Fair on behalf of the Uptown Association. It was our first-ever Classics Award as an agency.
Then, we won our second category, Community Relations (Business/Industry), for our work promoting “50 Days of Uptown,” also with the Uptown Association.
Then, we won our third category, Special Events/Observances (More Than 7 Days – Business/Industry), for our work with the Midwest Dairy Association on the Princess Kay of the Milky Way program turning 60 last year.
By that point, we were almost speechless. (Which is saying a lot for a group of people who make their living via communications.) While we always put award-worthy effort into every client project, and we take great pride in the work we do, it was incredibly gratifying to receive so much recognition from our peers in our first showing at the Classics.
Thank you to the Minnesota PRSA for hosting a great event and bringing together so many creative, talented people in the public relations community. Thank you to our clients the Uptown Association and the Midwest Dairy Association, along with the Mpls. St. Paul Magazine ASID MN Showcase Home, which was also a finalist in the Media Kits category. We hope you had as much fun working on these campaigns as we did. Last, but not least, congrats to the entire Bellmont Partners team – we’ve hit a lot of milestones this year, but last night was up there among the best!
